Way back in February of 2000, I suggested that perhaps Fry's was going to close up shop in the physical world, and begin selling their wares online, much like Egghead.com. Apparently, I wasn't far off the mark.

Egghead.com spokeswoman Joanne Hartzell announced on Wednesday that they were filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, and would be selling their website and "ongoing operations" to Fry's Electronics, who will keep the site in operation.
